Volume weight
Length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000, per piece, added up. Couriers often use ÷ 5000; we tell you when that applies.

Chargeable weight
The greater of actual and volume weight, rounded up to the next 0.5 kg. Light, bulky cargo pays for its space.

Checks
Pieces taller than about 157 cm need a freighter; pieces of 150 kg and up need heavy handling; anything longer than a 318 cm pallet needs carrier approval.
