Services · Crating and packaging

Crates built to the piece, not to a catalogue.

Export crates, skids, flight cases and protective packing designed for the item, the mode and the climate it has to cross.

What's included

We measure and photograph every piece, then build the packing around it: how it is lifted, what it must not touch, how long it will sit in heat or at sea. The crate is part of the plan, not an afterthought.

Five checks on every quote

What we look at before a price leaves the desk.

Outer dimensions including pallet or skid, rounded up to the full centimetre, with a photo of the tape. Terminals re-measure, so we get it right first.

Solid timber crossing a border must be heat-treated (56 °C core for 30 minutes) and carry the ISPM 15 mark. Plywood, OSB and MDF are exempt; solid skids are not.

Summer heat and night cooling cause condensation inside crates and containers. Barrier bags and desiccant are sized to the volume and the days at sea.

Fuel and oils drained, batteries disconnected or removed, moving parts secured. Otherwise the machine itself becomes dangerous goods.

Centre of gravity, sling points, this-way-up and fragile marks on every crate, so the next person handles it the way we planned.

Questions

What shippers ask us.

Does plywood need ISPM 15?
No. Plywood, OSB and MDF are exempt. Solid-wood skids, battens and pallets are not, and must carry the mark.
Can you crate on site?
Yes. We measure and build at your site, in our warehouse or at a partner workshop, whichever is safer for the piece.
Do you make reusable cases?
Yes, flight cases and returnable crates for touring kit and repeat shipments, built to last a season or more.
