Aircraft being loaded on the apron at night
Services · Air freight

Air freight, checked before it is booked.

When the date is fixed and the cargo is awkward, air is a planning job. We measure, check fit and paperwork, then book the right aircraft: belly, freighter or charter.

What's included

Every quote shows chargeable and actual weight, a transit range instead of a promise, and the surcharges by name. Dangerous goods are checked by a trained signer, not guessed.

Five checks on every quote

What we look at before a price leaves the desk.

Airlines charge the greater of actual weight and volume weight (L × W × H in cm ÷ 6000). Light, bulky cargo pays for its space. We show both figures on the quote; if the actual weight is unknown, it says TBC.

Passenger-aircraft holds take pieces up to about 157 cm high. Taller or longer pieces go on a freighter main deck, with carrier approval. Narrow-body routes take loose cargo only.

From 150 kg a piece needs mechanical handling and a check of the floor load per square metre. Skids or spreaders are planned before the cargo reaches the terminal.

Batteries, aerosols, paints, perfume, engines and dry ice are flagged on intake. A trained signer decides; lithium batteries shipped on their own fly on cargo aircraft only.

A booked flight is a target, not a promise, so we quote a range door to door. Fuel and security surcharges move monthly; every quote states how long it holds.

Questions

What shippers ask us.

Can you guarantee two days door to door?
No one honestly can. We quote a range, for example three to five working days, and confirm it once the carrier has accepted the booking.
I only have dimensions. Can you still quote?
Yes, on volume weight, with actual weight marked TBC. The price can change when the terminal weighs the cargo, and we say so on the quote.
Do you fly lithium batteries?
Batteries inside or packed with equipment, yes, with the right marks. Loose batteries go on cargo aircraft only, at low charge. A trained signer checks every case.
What is the airline liable for?
About 26 SDR per kilogram under the Montreal Convention, far below the value of most cargo. We offer cargo insurance on every quote.
